Day 15: quickwrite, childhood memory.

The wood was rumbling, splintering in the middle. The road beneath us looked like static, and we picked up speed. Trees blipped by peripherally. Our wagon rocketed down the hill, our voices bright and resonant between the fly-by houses on either side of us. And then it happened: a thin wheel collapsed and our makeshift vehicle followed suit. It thudded on the pavement, scraping the paint off the underside. We tumbled ass over elbow onto the street, skin peeled back and oozing blood through the rough gravel stuck to our wounds. The wagon skidded to a halt sideways and capsized.
