A break in the monotony: your kindness.

My girlfriend, Sara, was recently accepted to a study-abroad program over in London, to work on her major (photography, art) in a much cooler environment than a suburban college town in the mountains of Virginia. In order to fund this more readily, she has been applying to scholarship after scholarship through our school and through general websites that offer them—but you know the deal with those: so is everyone else, and you cant really control who wins and who doesnt. Most of the time, I feel, it’s a crapshoot.

That said, she has entered into something she (or we, really) have a little more control over. The Brickfish Social Media contest, a photo-scholarship sort of deal, is more interactive; people vote on what photo they like most, and if she lands in the Top 200 (out of more than 30,000 entries) she’ll be in the running for some scholarship cash. At time of writing she’s at No. 585—not bad—but I know we can get her ranking a bit higher up, no?

So it’d mean a lot if you guys and girls out there could click this link and vote for her picture. There’s no registration involved, nothing more than a few seconds of your time, and it could really ease the stress of financial aid for a very ambitious girl. (And you can vote once every twelve hours! But dont worry—I’ll be sure to remind you.)
